BREATHING TEST(LUNG FUNCTION TESTING) SPIROMETARY TESTING for Lung Function Pulmonary function testing measure how well you are breathing., it measures how munch(Volume( and how Fast (Flow) a patient can move air into and out of his or lungs. Lung diseases can often be diagnosed in early stages when treatment is most effective. Once Lung disease is diagnosed and treated, routine spirometary test can monitor changes in lung function with specific treatment. LUNG FUNCTION TESTING AT FCMC (Spirometary Test) At FCMC, the Nurse will have patient take in a deep breath and blow into a mouthpiece attached to the spirometer.. You will blow out as hard and as fast as you can until your lung feel absolutely empty. Our nurse will ask you to repeat the test several more times until there are two to three effort. Our nurse will coach and encourage you to do your best during the test.
The result of the breath test demonstrate the patient’s air flow or the volume forced out within the first second. This is the Force Expiratory Volume in the First second (FEV1), This indicates whether or not there is airway obstruction, record the Total Volume of air forced out of the lungs, Force Vital Capacity (FVC). |
