Yvonne Valencia, FNP-C, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner at First Care Medical Clinic in Gastonia, North Carolina. In addition to a special interest in family medicine, Yvonne has a strong background in critical care nursing. She takes a personalized approach to nursing and tailors treatment to meet each patient’s specific needs.
Yvonne earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Queens University in Charlotte, North Carolina, in 2011. She went on to earn a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of North Carolina-Wilmington in 2018. She brings more than eight years of nursing experience to her patients at First Care Medical Clinic.
One of the things she loves most about working at First Care Medical Clinic is the variety of people of all ages, genders, and backgrounds who walk through the center’s doors. Because she’s fluent in both English and Spanish, Yvonne makes all of her patients feel comfortable and understood. She believes that one of the most essential components of effective nursing is forming a strong bond with each patient, so that she can provide personalized care that honors their individuality.
Yvonne is a proud member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. A Gaston County native, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband and four children.
